Auld Lang Syne ": What is it Again?

Here it is. The answer to the eternal question, what the hell is "Auld Lang Syne" mean?
Ambiguities in the song is probably almost as much tradition as the song itself. As revelers stumble and mumble through the verses, singing "Auld Lang syne" works much louder than the rest of the song because it's really just part of the people who know, someone always asks what the words mean.
Address Scottish fine-tuned means "time" and is about remembering friends from the past and do not let them be forgotten.
Despite a strong connection with New Year's Eve, "Auld Lang Syne", written by Robert Burns in the year 1700, was never meant to be a holiday song. Guy Lombardo is credited with popularizing the song when his band used it as a segue between two radio programs live show at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York in 1929. Coincidentally played Auld Lang Syne "" immediately after the clock hit midnight and New Year's Eve tradition was born.
Track and confusion that comes with it, has been immortalized in numerous films and television shows.

Clueless in "When Harry Met Sally," Billy Crystal's Harry asks: ".? What does this song is my life, I do not know what this song I mean, 'Should old acquaintance be forgot" Does that mean that we forget old friends. Or does it mean that if we happened to forget, we should remind them, which is not possible, because we have forgotten it already? "
"Well, maybe it's just means that we should remember that we forgot them or something," Sally reasons. "Anyway, it's about old friends."
So how do you surround yourself with old and new friends to sing on tonight.
And if you really want to impress people, here the lyrics of the original English version of the song are you are likely to hear:
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and Auld Lang Syne?
