Game-winning kick for Clemson in Chick-fil-A Bowl


ATLANTA - Chandler Catanzaro was not about to let blocked extra point before the game on the road in his last second game-winning field goal.
Catanzaro kicked a 37-yard field goal as outdated and No. 14 Clemson 25-24 wild victory No. 9 LSU in the Chick-fil-A Bowl on Monday night.
"I was ready when the opportunity came to me," Catanzaro said. "It was the next kick mentality. I was so grateful for the opportunity."
Catanzaro, a former walk-on, 17 of 16 field goals in the regular season.
Kick gave Clemson the first 11-win season since 1981 national championship team.
Trailing 24-22, Clemson (11-2) took over the 20, 1:39 left. Tajh Boyd moved to Deandre Hopkins 26 meters in the fourth-and-16 during the game decisive 10-play drive.
Boyd completed 36 50 passes for 346 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He set career peaks of the company and the completion date.
"Tajh Boyd was phenomenal," LSU coach Les Miles said. "I did not expect a heroic, if you like, the efforts he had."
