dallas cowboys' ability to reach the postseason

Cowboys' ability to reach the postseason.

"It is a gentle victory, that's the way I see it," said outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware. "We played better, but the way we played, it was not to get us where we should be."

The Cowboys kept their playoff hopes alive, as slender as they, by beating the Eagles team that won matches since September.

Sometimes, you can see the points of style. Of course, winning the game is important, but a playoff team needs to beat opponents who are not close to reaching the playoffs, right?

"This is huge for our team," said Cowboys tight end Jason Witten. "This is a big win. Backs against the wall, we knew it had to play hard to get us the win. Four game time."

Recent history suggests the Cowboys will not make enough of their four-game season to make the playoffs.

On Thanksgiving Day, the Cowboys manhandled the Washington Redskins. Dallas trailed 28-3 until mounting a rally to make it a one possession game.

They did not complete the comeback.
A week before it trailed the Cowboys 13-0 in a Cleveland Browns team with only two wins coming in Dallas collected to win in overtime.
Knowing what happened in the two weeks before the Eagles game, it does provide a much confidence in the Cowboys the postseason.

The fact is the Cowboys did not make the playoffs. There are just too many early season loss. Setbacks against the Seattle Seahawks, New York Giants and Baltimore Ravens hurt this team.

Over the next four weeks, the Cowboys face opponents with a lot on the line.

The Cincinnati Bengals are up next, and they play an AFC playoff berth. Defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer for, cornerback Terence Newman and Pacman Jones were all Cowboys band. Do you think a victory over the Cowboys would mean a lot to them?

The Pittsburgh Steelers visit Cowboys Stadium on Dec. 16th Ben Roethlisberger, one of the toughest NFL quarterbacks, you may be ready to return from his injury before then. Playing at Cowboys Stadium was not a big deal for the Steelers, who ended a 15-game home winning streak Baltimore Sun.

The New Orleans Saints and Washington translate schedule. The Saints' playoff hopes are pretty much over. Who knows what the rematch with the Redskins would mean on Dec. 30?

"We have to win one game at a time," said Cowboys coach Jason Garrett. "We have to focus on ourselves."

Desperation may have Cowboys since the season started in late July closing before New Year's Day.

Winning team this Sunday night the Eagles is important, but you would have liked to see the Cowboys play better.

Guilt is impressive, especially DeMarco Murray return from a sprained foot rush for 83 yards on 23 carries. Dez Bryant is another strong game with 98 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
But defense is terrible. Eagles rookie quarterback Nick feels was sacked only once and hit three times. Let Danny McCray interception bounce off his hands, and Bryce Brown rushed for 169 yards on 24 carries with two touchdowns.

So to beat the Eagles in the way that they did was important for the Cowboys in the short term.

"Great, because if you lose it, it's probably over down," defensive end Marcus Spears said. "So it was great., We have to take it, how we do it. Know we that we can continue to play like myself as far as defense goes. Offense played well I think the guys won the game. We made some cut at the end to seal it, but these guys won the game. "
