MTV's 'Buckwild' series premiere draws 2.5 million viewers

Buckwild, slightly controversial new MTV reality series about a group of friends in a backwoods West Virginia, debuted on Thursday night, a decent haul of 2.49 million viewers during the back-to-back premieres.

And although the figures are far Buckwild Jersey Shore highlights many probably want to use as a comparison, the premiere actually surpassed 2009 in Jersey Shore series launch 1,375,000. He also surpassed the 2012 debut last parallel Shore Snooki and JWoww (2.4 million), but fell shy Pauly D Project (2.9 million). The real test will come in subsequent periods Buckwild. Jersey Shore has managed to triple the audience until the end of his freshman season, swelling to 4.8 million viewers and eventually approaching 9,000,000 viewers two years later. Flagship signed former MTV Buckwild time slot last Thursday of the month was relatively lackluster EUR 3.1 million.
As for its critical reception, Buckwild seems to be an uphill battle.

"BUCKWILD is much worse than the sum of the other parts," writes the Hollywood Reporter TV critic Allison Keene Jersey Shore and hybrid Honey Boo Boo. "This is not just another tired stereotypes description of the South, but it has also made an unforgivable wrong."
BUCKWILD average of 1.4 rating with adults 18-49 and 2.2 rating from 12 to 34 people over two half-hour episodes.
